The Democratic National Committee is hitting the airwaves with a new
series of radio commercials targeting 10 Republican congressmen over
the issue of health care including one from suburban Philadelphia.
The 60 second spot is airing on several stations around town including this one:
"Health insurance reform is the law of the land, but no thanks to Congressman Jim Gerlach.”
The four-term Congressman does believe the commercial misrepresents his record:
"I’ve constantly been talking about the need to undertake a number of reforms to our health care insurance system.”
Some include some tenets of the new law like coverage for pre-existing
conditions. He also supports making health insurance more portable and
to be sold across state lines. The multi-million dollar campaign also
targets Delaware Republican Mike Castle, who’s seeking to move up to
the Senate.
