GERLACH BACKED BY CHESTER COUNTY'S JOB CREATORS

Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry Endorses Gerlach's Pro-Jobs, Pro-Small Business Record; Gerlach Also Receives Award Today from Greater Reading Chamber

(Glenmoore, PA) - Congressman Jim Gerlach proudly announced the endorsement of the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry today, which represents over 1,000 job creators in southeastern Pennsylvania. The announcement comes on the heels of the Chester County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #11, whose endorsement of Gerlach was announced yesterday.

In their release, Chamber Board Chairman Brian DiSabatino stated Gerlach will "advance an agenda that helps to grow our economy with the private sector leading the way." The Chamber noted that Gerlach stood with small businesses on issues of health care, tort reform, and against job-killing measures like "card check" and "cap and trade."

"As unemployment and a weakened economy continue to financially strain southeastern Pennsylvania families, it is crystal clear that our businesses and job creators, not government, will grow our way out of this recession and get people back to work. Giving them the tools to do that is my top priority in Congress," said Congressman Gerlach. "We have to put in place pro-growth, pro-jobs measures that will help small businesses turn this economy around. I'm proud to stand with the Chester County Chamber and pledge to continue working together to move that agenda forward."

In addition, Gerlach today was honored by the Greater Reading Chamber of Business and Industry for his outstanding support of small business, job creation and helping businesses grow. He was presented with the "Spirit of Enterprise Award" announced by the US Chamber of Commerce back in April.

Gerlach has a strong pro-jobs record in Congress, and has three specific jobs bills that help to ease credit, provide tax relief for small businesses, reduce red-tape and offer tax incentives to companies that grow jobs here, rather than ship them overseas to countries like China.

Gerlach's opponent, Manan Trivedi, opposes extending the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 which will result in the largest tax increase on individuals and businesses in American history, and has stated he supports the $1 trillion 2009 'stimulus' which has done nothing to create jobs but will leave a mountain of debt for future generations of Americans. By comparison, Trivedi's most recent endorsement came yesterday, from the Howard Dean-backed Democracy for America, a left-wing fringe group of liberal activists.
