TRIVEDI CONTINUES TO PEDDLE MYTHS TO VOTERS AND LEFT WING DONORS

Fundraising Materials Sent from Trivedi’s Campaign to Donors Just Last Week List His Employer as Reading Hospital, Yet He Hasn’t Appeared for Work Since Last Year

(Glenmoore, PA) - Manan Trivedi is knowingly, purposely and repeatedly making claims that are misleading and simply not true to fool voters and liberal donors. Two of these myths were peddled in a fundraising packet sent to donors just last week in advance of a July 30th fundraiser in Washington - again falsely claiming his "deep roots in the district" (even though they don't exist), and peddling the myth that Trivedi now works at Reading Hospital, even though he hasn't stepped foot in the hospital since last fall.

The circulated fundraising materials from last week continue the myth peddled by Trivedi personally throughout his primary campaign and in brochures and mailers, as well as in two photos prominently featured on his campaign homepage in front of Reading Hospital, implying he is currently employed at the Hospital. The Gerlach campaign has verified and fact-checked information that Trivedi hasn’t worked at Reading Hospital since the fall of 2009. In 2009, he earned just $18,000 at the Hospital according to personal financial disclosure forms he was required to file with the House of Representatives, proving he was seldom there to begin with.

Additionally, although Trivedi grew up in Fleetwood located miles outside the 6th district in Rep. Tim Holden’s district (17th District), Trivedi has stated on countless occasions over the past several months he was "born and raised" in the 6th district. The Philadelphia Inquirer even quoted him on May 20th, stating: "I'm from this district. I was born and raised in this district.”

During Jim Gerlach’s entire time in Congress, Trivedi maintained his official residence in California and Washington, and hasn't lived in Pennsylvania in nearly twenty years. And because he was still living in Washington last September, Trivedi had to file to run for Congress in Pennsylvania from a PO Box in Bala Cynwyd (Montgomery County, PA). Trivedi only later purchased a house in Pennsylvania, but still maintains his town-home in Washington, DC.

"Trivedi is pushing an image that simply isn't true. He needs to tell the truth and come clean that he wasn't born-and-raised in this district, he doesn't work here, and if elected, has no intention of living here since he still maintains his Washington DC town home," said Mark Campbell, spokesman for Gerlach's campaign. "It's clear that Trivedi's campaign for Congress is based on purposeful misrepresentations, and is nothing more than an extended vacation in Pennsylvania from his home in Washington while he fabricates a campaign for Congress."

"Trivedi should re-write his entire campaign website and fundraising materials to be honest and accurate to include, 'I'm not from this district, I don’t work here, I haven't lived in Pennsylvania in years, I have no plans of living here if elected, but I'm ready to be a rubber stamp for the far left’s job-killing, big government agenda," said Campbell.

Congressman Jim Gerlach protects taxpayers and has lived in the 6th district for nearly 30 years, understands its people, leaders, businesses and communities. He does not maintain a residence in Washington but is home and accessible every weekend attending events, meetings and reaching out to constituents. He has been rated by numerous non-partisan publications as one of the most independent Republicans in Washington.
